’Tis afternoon ere Christmas Eve
And nary a snowflake to be found.
Undeterred, St Nick will spread joy
This very night on appointed round.
Lend ear to yuletide stories of olde,
Let festive chorus your heart delight,
Allow peace to reign, lo and behold,
Tidings of hope abound, o holy night.
